As summer winds to a close, it’s time to start thinking about back to school. Your UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics care team is here to help your family ease into the back-to-school routine with these tips and resources.
Back-to-School Checklist
- If your child is starting school or going to 6th or 11th grade, most Pennsylvania public schools require a completed physical prior to the start of the school year. Call your CCP office to make sure your child’s physical is up to date.
- If your child has asthma, make sure your child’s asthma action plan is up to date and on-file with the school nurse prior to the start of the new school year.
- Request any new medical letters or prescription refills (Epi Pen, etc.) through the MyUPMC or UPMC Central Pa. portal to save time.
- Make sure your child’s immunizations are up to date. You can find your child’s immunization record through your Patient Portal.
Timesaver Tricks
- Whether your child is away at college or traveling with a sports team, CCP is here to provide care wherever they may roam. We offer convenient video visits…day, night, or weekends. Learn more about video visits.
- Use your MyUPMC or UPMC Central PA portal account to message your CCP office with non-urgent questions or to schedule your next appointment online.
