Children’s Community Pediatrics (CCP) is expanding its pediatric network in New Castle, Pa. with John J. LaBella, MD. Dr. LaBella will be taking over the practice of Gheorghe Antonescu, MD upon his February 1, 2017 retirement. The practice now will be known as CCP - Shenango.
Under the direction of Dr. LaBella, CCP – Shenango will be relocating to a new location, 2540 New Butler Road, Suite A, New Castle, PA 16101.

Dr. LaBella has been a provider within the Children’s Community Pediatrics (CCP) network for 18 years. Consistently recognized as one of the regions "Best Doctors" by Pittsburgh Magazine, Dr. LaBella has also served as president of the medical staff at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. His primary passion has always been working directly with families to help them make Healthy Choices.
Dr. LaBella received his medical degree in his hometown of Syracuse, NY at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. After obtaining his degree, he moved with his wife to Pittsburgh to complete his residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital. Dr. LaBella also completed a subspecialty fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Magee Womens Hospital of UPMC where he then served as an attending neonatologist prior to joining CCP in 1999.
When not offering his medical expertise to his patients, Dr. LaBella provides sports action photography to youth.
