After-Hours Care
We make ourselves available to keep your children at their best. If your child is experiencing sick symptoms outside of typical office hours, consider utilizing our after-hours services below.
Children’s Nurse Triage and Advice Line
If you have a concern about your child’s health, we encourage you to contact our office. The on-duty nurse can provide medical advice and connect you with a pediatrician should you need further assistance. The helpline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
UPMC Children’s Express Care
By visiting UPMC Children’s Express Care, our after-hours clinic, your child will receive the same specialized pediatric care you’ve come to expect from your UPMC CCP pediatrician. Open conveniently on evenings and weekends, your child can receive care for minor injuries and illnesses when your pediatrician’s office is closed for the day. Learn more about our services or find a location near you.
In the case of a serious emergency, call 911 or go to the emergency room.
Newborns
Once you have delivered your baby, please tell the hospital staff which UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics’ office you have chosen for your baby’s care. Depending upon the hospital, either a member of the UPMC CCP care team or a hospital-based pediatrician will examine your baby before they leave the hospital.
Remember to call your CCP office before leaving the hospital to schedule your baby’s first check-up with us. We will see your baby in our office as soon as necessary after hospital discharge, typically within two to three days.
New Patients
Our office is always accepting new patients. Whether you’re joining us from another pediatric office, or you are just welcoming a newborn into the world, UPMC CCP is always happy to make your child a part of the UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics network. Call 724-548-2283 to schedule an initial visit.
Consent to Treat
Pennsylvania law requires all children under the age of 18 to be accompanied by an adult for each CCP office visit. Adults other than the patient’s biological parent or legal guardian will need to complete a Medical Consent Authorization form prior to the appointment. Some exceptions may apply. Please contact our office should you have any questions.
