Virtual Nutrition Services

Good nutrition is the key to a happy and healthy life.

Woman and girl talking to nutritionistUPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics (UPMC CCP) understands that what your child eats, or doesn’t eat, can have a great effect on energy levels, appearance, how often your child gets sick, overall growth and development, and other health issues. Plus, your child needs specific nutrients at each stage of life in order to grow healthy and strong.

Through our Healthy Habits 4 Life program, UPMC CCP’s pediatric registered dietitian nutritionists (RDN) will virtually meet with you and your child to develop healthy habits. During your first video visit, a RDN will conduct a nutrition assessment to help your child better meet his or her nutrient needs. The RDN can also provide counseling and information on topics such as:

  • Nutrition from birth through teen years
  • Failure to thrive / poor weight gain
  • Picky eaters
  • Food allergies
  • Vegetarians
  • Disease specific conditions
  • Sports nutrition
  • Weight management

Nutrition video visits are now available for UPMC CCP patients and a provider referral is not required. To learn more or to schedule a video visit, please contact your UPMC CCP office or ask about this service during your next in-office visit.
